Blumenthal Stands on Yellow Line during Railroad-Safety Presser, Nearly Hit by Train


Democratic senator Richard Blumenthal was nearly hit by a train at a press conference on Friday about . . . railroad safety violations.

Blumenthal, a freshman senator from Connecticut, hectored Amtrak about its safety violations while standing on the yellow warning strip at the edge of the boarding platform, where passengers aren’t supposed to stand as a train approaches.
