Lead Singer of Village People Bans Clippers from Playing Group’s Music after Owner’s Racist Rant

by Andrew Johnson

Victor Willis, more commonly known as the cop in the Village People, is laying down the law on Donald Sterling. Following the Los Angeles Clippers owner’s racist remarks released over the weekend, Willis tweeted that the team is barred from playing the group’s music at its games.

TMZ reports that Willis plans to send Sterling an official letter on Monday.

Other songs that the Clippers fans could miss out on if Willis’s threat is carried out include “Macho Man” and “In the Navy.” Willis legally owns the rights to one-third of the Village People’s songs as part of a 2013 settlement, according to Sporting News.
