The conference will be held this coming Wednesday, May 7, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington. Representative Tom Cotton will be giving opening remarks, followed by a number of splendid expert panels covering a variety of important topics.
The most interesting panel by far promises to be the 11:00 a.m. discussion on disparate-impact theory and its expansion into spheres far beyond employment. The panel consists of Professor (and U.S. Commission on Civil Rights member) Gail Heriot, Professor Ted Shaw of Columbia Law School, and the lovely and talented Peter Kirsanow. New York Times Supreme Court correspondent Adam Liptak will moderate. The keynote will be given by a guy named Ted Cruz, who purports to be a passable speaker.
There are still some seats available as well as CLE credits. Stop by and say hello.
