WH Won’t Say Whether It Will Cooperate with Benghazi Select Committee

by Andrew Johnson

White House press secretary Jay Carney refused to tell reporters whether the administration would cooperate with the soon-to-be established select committee to investigate Benghazi.

Indicating that the White House would not speculate on its plans, Carney appeared to slight the committee by saying that the White House is willing to cooperate with “legitimate oversight.” He was also mum on whether congressional Democrats should take part in the investigation.

“We leave it up to Leader Pelosi and Democrats on the Hill on how they want to approach this,” Carney said.
