Romney: Obama, Clinton ‘Repeatedly Underestimated’ Our Adversaries

by Andrew Johnson

Mitt Romney believes the growing problems in Iraq are just the latest example of the Obama administration’s allowing national-security threats to grow into larger ones. While the Iraqi government should take most of the blame for the worsening situation, he said, the president and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton did not provide enough support to the country.

“This administration, from Secretary Clinton to President Obama, has repeatedly underestimated the threats faced by America, has repeatedly underestimated our adversaries,” he said on Meet the Press. “Whether that’s Russia, or Assad, or ISIS, or al-Qaeda itself, it has not taken the action necessary to prevent bad things from happening; it has not used our influence to do what is necessary to protect our interests.”
