New Song Defends Israel’s ‘Maximum Restraint,’ Takes on the Media

by NRO Stafff

Singer-songwriter Peter Himmelman offers a bluesy defense of Israel, as well as a critique of Hamas and its capitulators, in a new song titled “Maximum Restraint.” Himmelman praises the Israeli government for its approach to the ongoing conflict, despite criticism from members of the media and global community. For example, the chorus goes as follows:

Another photo op to take, take straight to CNN
they paint Israel as the aggressor – and then it all begins again

When someone comes to kill you
In the middle of the night
Don’t try to defend yourself
Don’t use an ounce of might
Just sit there quietly and try hard not to faint
As the world calls out for – maximum restraint.

The lyrics also takes on the Obama administration’s handling of the issue, including John Kerry.
