Theater of the Absurd

Text

It seems impossible, but the older I get, the more I appreciate Thomas Sowell’s columns. And I have always appreciated them, hugely. His latest one is another winner. I took particular note of this paragraph (for a reason I’ll soon explain):

It is by no means guaranteed that this country will survive the long-run consequences of the disastrous decisions already made by Barack Obama, especially his pretense of stopping Iran’s becoming a nuclear power. Obama may no longer be in office when those chickens come home to roost.

I suppose that, since the 2008 campaign, I have associated the phrase about chickens and roosting with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. To be reminded of this astonishing and nauseating performance, go here (with the chickens coming home to roost at 1:50).
