The ruling party (NDP) headquarters continue to burn.

Meanwhile, the administration has shifted its tone. Robert Gibbs tweets: “Very concerned about violence in Egypt – government must respect the rights of the Egyptian people & turn on social networking and internet.” More from WSJ.

Al Jazeera still expects Mubarak to speak very soon. Egyptian commentators speculate that Mubarak will not willingly step down.

Finally, this morning, the Wall Street Journal announced that ElBaradei (Nobel peace laureate and main democratic opposition leader) had been placed under house arrest. We’ve heard nothing from hi recently.
