CLOSING STATEMENTS
Edwards begins with tale of his younger days when he was a boy. (This was about, what, two weeks ago? Okay, that’s mean.) His dad learned math from the television. Edwards was proud of him and was hopeful.
“I have grown up in the bright light of America. And that bright light is flickering today.” This rhetoric is pretty good.
Talks about empty chair from family member serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. Hmmm. Would President Kerry bring the troops home from both? Is it wrong or troubling that U.S. forces are in Afghanistan?
John Kerry and I are asking for the power to fight for you. Somewhere, Bob Shrum is smiling.
