POLLS TO IGNORE - AND WEIRDNESS IN NEWSWEEK
More polls to ignore:
Time (LV | 10/14-10/15): Bush 48, Kerry 46, Nader 3 | Bush JA @ 49%
Newsweek (LV | 10/14-10/15): Bush 50, Kerry 44, Nader 1 | Bush 50, Kerry 45
Tracking:
Rasmussen: Bush 48, Kerry 46 |
Zogby: Bush 48, Kerry 44, Nader 1
TIPP: Bush 48, Kerry 45, Nader 2 | Bush 47, Kerry 44
Florida: Washington Post (10/4-10/10): Bush 48, Kerry 48, Nader 1
Do not get excited or depressed, my friends. The media poll respondent selection by party giveth, the media poll respondent selection by party taketh away.
(UPDATE: Kerry Spot reader Meg e-mails in confirmation: Newsweek polled 354 Republicans, 317 Democrats and 284 Independents, a 37%-33%-29% breakdown. Their previous poll had Republicans 35%, Democrats 37%, Independents 28%. This time Time polled Republicans 35%, Democrats 36%, Independents 21%; the previous poll had Republicans 32%, Democrats 36%, Independents 23%.)
Notice this nutty result in Newsweek's poll:
Bush has a clear advantage with women, who prefer him 49 percent to 43 percent. Kerry has a slight edge with men, 50 percent to 46 percent.
What, are efforts by each party to narrow the gender gap working too well?
