The Daily Recycler ate its Wheaties this morning, and is laying out clearly and without comment that John Kerry just doesn't know what the heck he's talking about on this missing HMX story.

In a two-minute video, the Daily Recycler simply and plainly contrast Kerry's empty, incoherent ranting about the topic from this morning with the straightforward NBC News story from last night.

Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News is probably going to get a lot of grief from the left, and I'm sure they'll now label him as a Rumsfeld pawn or some other nonsense. No, Miklaszewski appears to have remembered his job - to get the facts and to get the story right.

Also note this little bit at the end of a CNN story:

Kerry senior adviser Joe Lockhart fired back with a statement of his own, accusing the Bush campaign of "distorting" the NBC News report.

"In a shameless attempt to cover up its failure to secure 380 tons of highly explosive material in Iraq, the White House is desperately flailing in an effort to escape blame," Lockhart said. "It is the latest pathetic excuse from an administration that never admits a mistake, no matter how disastrous."

Lockhart did not elaborate on how the Bush campaign was distorting the NBC report.

Note to Lockhart: This argument would be a lot more persuasive if you bothered to give a specific distortion, never mind more than one.
