AN UPDATE ON TSUNAMI AID FROM INAUGURAL DONORS
The guys at Crushkerry.com write in to share an update on the tsunami aid contributions of inaugural donors.
You'll recall that a few folks have called for the cancellation of the upcoming presidential inauguration, and the $40 million or so set to be spent on the celebration given to tsunami victims instead. A silly argument, since the $40 million in privately-donated funds has pretty much already been spent, and it's not like inaugurations and disaster relief aid are an "either/or" proposition. why should the Bush revelers not be permitted to celebrate the president's election?
Well, CrushKerry.com calculates that inaugural donors have now given more than $50 million, not including in-kind contributions. And also note that nearly one-third of the total Inaugural donors are individuals, whose information about tsunami relief donations is not easily found.
