J. Sweet is the founder and President of Capitol Analysts Network, Inc.
He has twenty-five years of continuous Washington experience, including
sixteen years as a congressional legislative assistant and legislative
director, an administration appointee, and as a registered lobbyist. During
his service on Capitol Hill, Sweet was a senior legislative assistant
to Reps. Dan Quayle, David Stockman, and Jack Kemp, and Sens. Richard
Schweicker, John Heinz, and Paula Hawkins. He served in the Reagan administration
and was vice president in the prominent lobbying firm of Black, Manafort,
Stone & Kelly. Sweet has testified before the Senate Finance Committee
as an expert witness and has been asked to submit written testimony for
the Ways and Means Committee. He has authored guest editorials for the
Wall Street Journal and Investors Business Daily, and has
appeared on national television. Sweet served as a senior adviser to the
'96 Republican Convention manager, an aide to the '96 Republican Platform
Committee, and is currently advising policymakers about tax reform.
Sweet received both a B.A. (1975) in business and an M.B.A. (1976) from
the University of Chicago.
