the above quote is what is most troubling about the op-ed piece since it shows the liberal mindset. The govt didn't build the transcontinental railroads they enabled it but it was still private enterprise that did the construction.

I found the troubling part was that Dad was worried his Son might "lose faith in the government."
Losing faith in everything else is OK, but not politicians and bureaucrats!
