Whoops: Donald Trump’s Clothing Line Made in China

Today’s a tough day for the Donald. As Salon has today noted, the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection is manufactured in…China.  Trump, a notorious China basher as of late, will no doubt face criticism for this latest hypocrisy.

Easy solution: Slap a 25% tariff on them and he move production to the US, just like that.

Hysterical. I guess it could be worse for him, but I'm not sure how.

I actually welcome Trump's entry into the political arena. He's taking a LOT of the media-concocted grief that would have otherwise been directed at the more reasonable GOP contenders.

NRO is just wishing things could get worse for Trump. First, Obama releases his birth certificate, and Trump declares that he won. I actually agree with him.

Now this? Trump uses it as an example of how China is taking our jobs and we need a tariff in order to successfully compete.

His response isn't that hard to figure out. But NRO is so hopeful of Trump's demise they can't see the obvious spin.

Does anyone think that Trump actual makes decisions about where that clothing line is manufactured ? He licenses his name and gets paid a royalty. He may get some editorial say over what the stuff looks like but that is it ...

Who cares if Trump is being hypocritcal ? I don't as long as he keeps taking some bark off Obamas skin ... and I don't even after he fades away ...

I honestly have no desire to vote for Trump if he decides to run for president, but the more the beltway elites attempt to tear the guy down, the more I want him to succeed.

I dare say Trump would do just as good a job as the the guy they get behind.

Good business move. Only the wealthy - who won't be wealthy for long if liberals get their way - can afford clothes made in America that contain "the union label."

And why is Trump's business decision any more hypocritical than the policy decisions Obama makes? He tells the American people he's committed to making things better for us while favoring policies that make things worse.

As a lifelong NYer, and Republican, who tired of the blowhard Trump years ago, I don't welcome his participation in our party at all. However, IMO we shouldn't exult at his comeuppance in this instance.
The leftist Salon writer says he ''happened'' to be in Macy's yesterday and looked at the tag in the Trump Signature Shirt and noticed it was made in China. He also happened to find that parts of the assembled shirt emanated in Mexico. Hogwash. Be assured the information came from the Obama hit squad which was expert in 2008 in distributing negative data to sympathetic, i.e., most of the MM.
Having witnessed that operation, I believe many potential GOP candidates have dithered about whether to enter the race. They know that their entire lives will be grist for the Obama campaign character assassination mill.

I am waiting to hear from the numerous left-leaning lions of computers and software, who have all of their products made in Asia, except when they hire Asians here under H1-B visas. That's why Obama, and the like, love to tour Silicon Valley.
