Anthony Weiner has made the cover of the New York Post for seven of the past eleven days. While this doesn’t even come close to Tiger Woods’ record of 20 consecutive days (yet), it’s still fun to look at them all in succession. Enjoy:
Great! But you've got to update it with Friday's headline:
WEINER: I'LL STICK IT OUT (NY Post, 6/10/11)
I want to state on NRO that I'm taking credit for this one, which was the wording of a post I made to the Corner last Tuesday (in reply to some MSNBC guy demanding Weiner's resignation). Here's the link:
Two funny meanings at least to "Pop goes the Weasel." People with quirky, easy to parody names prove their intelligence by changing their name, for instance, not a lot of S.E. Asian immigrants doggedly sticking to the surname that starts with PH and ends with UK - something stubborn about those Weiner types though.
"Pop goes the weasel"
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseClassic. Too funny for words. Love it.
Where is the "Erections Matter" headline from a few days ago?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe 'Erections Matter' thing wasn't a headline on the front page. It was the headline of the lead editorial in the OpEd section.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseActually it was even better than that: "Erections Have Consequences."
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIn the fine tradition of classic yellow journalism may I just whisper, in praise of the Post....
"...Rosebud!...."
(smile)
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHe deserves the ridicule; I said he'd last until the 4th of July; if it goes past that date there's something very wrong.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePervert behavior. Corrupt politics. Vulgar journalism.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWhat an insult to Americans!
He is a digital flasher.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWeiner & Huma make me gag.
At least Arnold and Maria are healthy and toned.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"Oh the Huma-Nitty Gritty!"
"It's a Girl! (Another one?)"
"Twitter Twitter Little Star..."
"Call Me Daddy"
This stuff just writes itself.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseJames Taranto's TURGID TWEETER is perfect.

But wherever the credit lies, you gotta admit this is another solid entry in the series. (I still can't resist this story!)
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAnd the Weiner Watch goes on. I can only imagine the headlines if he resigns:
"Weiner To Go - With Relish"
Headline writer at the NY Post has to be one the best jobs in the world...
