Eugene Robinson: ‘What Is Mitt Romney Hiding?’

Text

From his column today:

Mitt Romney has every right to cloak his personal and professional finances in secrecy — and voters have every right to assume he has something embarrassing to hide. If this seems unfair, Romney has only himself to blame.

My version:

Barack Obama has every right to cloak his personal academic history in secrecy — and voters have every right to assume he has something embarrassing to hide. If this seems unfair, Obama has only himself to blame.

So, according to the Eugene doctrine, I’m assuming Obama lied on his application to Columbia and said he was a foreign student in order to gain admission. It’s my “right” to assume this. Now, according to the Eugene doctrine, Obama has to prove me wrong.
