I find this hilarious. Alan Krueger writes on the White House Blog:
The household survey showed that the unemployment rate ticked up to 8.3% in July (or, more precisely, the rate rose from 8.217% in June to 8.254% in July). Acting BLS Commissioner John Galvin noted in his statement that the unemployment rate was “essentially unchanged” from June to July.
The White House is treating this like it’s some exact number in a mathematical equation. Well, no matter if Team Obama uses 3.14 or 3.14159 for pi, his stimulus projections for an unemployment level of around 6 percent by the election don’t compute.
