Via Al Arabiya:

A cameraman working for Britain’s Sky News and a Dubai-based reporter have been killed in Egypt, amid today’s bloody crackdown on supporters of former president Mohammad Mursi.

Sky News cameraman Mick Deane was covering today’s violence when he was killed, the broadcaster said, adding that other members of its team in Cairo were not injured.

Deane had worked for Sky for 15 years, based in Washington and then Jerusalem, the broadcaster said. It was not immediately clear who was responsible for his death.

The news drew messages of condolence and tributes to Deane.

“I am saddened to hear of the death of cameraman Mick Deane, covering Egyptian violence. My thoughts are with his family and @SkyNews team,” David Cameron, the UK prime minister, wrote on Twitter.

John Ryley, the Head of Sky News, described Deane “as the very best of cameramen, a brilliant journalist and an inspiring mentor to many,” according to the Sky News website.

It was also reported today that the Dubai-based reporter Habiba Ahmed Abd Elaziz, 26, was shot and killed during the unrest in Cairo.
