Sheehan’s Letter “Fake but Accurate?”

Over at the Corner, an e-mailer writes:

Yeah, she’s pretty awful, but isn’t NRO’s line — `Next to those, does it matter if she did or didn’t say her son died for Israel?’ — awfully similar to the CBS position on the Bush National Guard papers — `Fake but accurate’?
The only question I’m interested in is whether Sheehan lied to Anderson Cooper when he confronted her with those statements. I didn’t go digging up that letter and waving it around claiming that Sheehan said her son died for Israel. Clearly, she’s said worse. In other words, the letter isn’t the issue for me; the issue is whether Sheehan lied when she disavowed it. So, clever comparison, but it’s not the same deal.
