I had the pleasure of joining Anne Bayefsky for coffee last week. Anne’s a tireless watchdog on the excesses and abuses of the United Nations, and her reporting requires many hours spent personally in the meeting rooms watching and noting the events. (Strange how they don’t want those meetings televised…)
She talked a bit, too, about Secretary Rice’s unfortunate bit of fence-sitting last week regarding the vote on the U.N.’s new Human Rights Council (which she wrote about for NRO here).
As bad as it all is at least we have folks like Bayefsky watching.
