Great Pats-Jets game last night. But it brought out how unfair the NFL overtime is–whoever wins the toss has a huge advantage. I like the college OT better.
Lots of e-mailed pointing out that apparently the advantage, statistically, isn’t that large:
I heard today on WEEI in Boston that the team that wins the coinflip only ends up winning the game 52% of the time, so perhaps it’s not as big an advantage as one might think. Maybe you could verify that stat, but I do agree that the college overtime system is much better.
