I really can’t tell you how many sophisticated — and pretenders of sophistication — have tut-tutted and poopooed my “claim” that liberals see nothing wrong with casting conservatives as fascists, crypto or otherwise. I think it was Tim Noah, scholar, who suggested that no serious liberal plays these games. Steve Coll, I’ve learned from Byron York, is president and CEO of the New America Foundation, writer for the New Yorker, Pulitzer prize winner, and former high-ranking editor at the Washington Post.
