Another critic heard from, in response to Sherif Girgis, Robert P. George, and Ryan T. Anderson’s “What Is Marriage?” article, is one Barry Deutsch, blogging at the Family Scholars website. Like Colonel Nicholson at the end of “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” fainting dead away on top of the detonator, Deutsch manages inadvertently to set off some charges. Unfortunately, like the colonel, they’re the sort that only explode his own handiwork, as the trio of GG&A explain at Public Discourse today.
I have one question for Barry Deutsch: Is he the metaphorical or the actual offspring of his mother and father? If readers puzzle over that question, I urge them to read thewhole exchange.
