Racism. Xenophobia. The descent of darkness. Amid the Tea Party calumnies uncovered by Ron Schiller, that crack (former) reporter/bureaucrat for NPR, lies the following bit of supreme amusement. Who knew that NPR is actually a training program for aspiring comedy-club headliners? To wit: “While the meeting I participated in turned out to be a ruse, I made statements during the course of the meeting that are counter to NPR’s values and also not reflective of my own beliefs.”
Some sources of laughter simply are eternal: Mother-in-law jokes. “If you like your health coverage you will be able to keep it.” And now: “I made statements . . . not reflective of my own beliefs.”
’Nuff said. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
