I have MSNBC on in the background, and “Democratic Strategist” Jamal Simmons just called (12:09) Governor Rick Perry “Luke Duke.” That’s as in one of the rascal cousins from the Dukes of Hazzard. He also called Mitt Romney “Wally Cleaver.”
That’s some great spin there. Republicans can either vote for the goody-two-shoes, or for the bootlegger driving around in a car with a Confederate flag on the side.
But if you are a fan of The Dukes, you know that Luke was in the Marine Corps and:
According to the 1997 Reunion movie, Luke eventually would leave Hazzard for good, and put his military training to good use by becoming a fire jumper for the U.S. Forest Service.
That’s right, Jamal. If you want a military veteran who is ready to jump into the fire as your commander-in-chief , then Perry’s your guy.
As for President Obama, I seem him as a more Roscoe P. Coltrane, at least where economic matters are concerned. Get the car out of the ditch, Mr. President while I sit here with Luke and drink
moonshine a Slurpee!
