Beneath the surface of Ford’s U.S. sales resurgence is the fact that customers appreciate that Ford did not take a Washington bailout (even as it has taken millions in government green tech welfare). The evidence has largely been anecdotal. Now Ford makes it explicit in a new ad campaign:
“I wasn’t gonna buy another car that was bailed out by the government,” says a real customer. “I was gonna buy from a manufacturer standing on their own. That’s the American way.”
Take that, Government Motors.
It’s also worth noting that Ford — a devout member of the Green Church — publicizes a customer who bought Ford’s giant, best-selling Ford F-150 4×4 pickup. Green is the color of money.
