Today on Uncommon Knowledge Chairman of Chief Oil and Gas Trevor Rees-Jones champions the enormous economic advantage the United States will lose unless it embraces North American oil and natural gas extraction.
“That Keystone Pipeline which would bring Canadian oil down into the United States is an absolute no brainer. The fact that we are chasing that oil, potentially, into Asian countries from our friendliest neighbor to the north is just absolute idiocy. It is crazy and stupid. And that alone means that no one should complain about the price of gasoline. If you’re going to turn Canadian oil — if you’re going to disallow Canada from bringing their United States through the keystone pipeline for refining and you’re going to chase it to Asia, you, as a citizen of the United States have no right to issue one peep of complaint about the price of gasoline and shame on you if you do.”
