The Wall Street Journal has a fantastic India-news website, Livemint, which you can read here. Particularly interesting today are this column by V. Anantha Nageswaran and this column by Nirvikar Singh. I don’t agree with the politics of either, but the arguments are cogent and intelligent, something that is too often lacking in discussion of the current financial and terrorism crises.
Also, if you haven’t read Indian Express editor Shekhar Gupta’s Newsweek column, it’s worth the time. Here is this morning’s Times of India editorial on containing terrorism. Here is The Hindu’s report that India’s top diplomat has ruled out military action against Pakistan. Here is a rather different interpretation of the same statement from India Today.
Finally, here is the Economic Times on the systemic failures of India’s navy and coastal security apparatus.
