Last night, President Obama’s former car czar, multi-millionaire Steve Rattner, took to Twitter to explain how the sequester has affected people close to him:
DoD just cancelled a summer intern program my son was going to apply to. #sequester— Steven Rattner (@SteveRattner) March 12, 2013
Tragic. And this horror story:
@steverattner And my friend’s son was just told his Capitol Hill internship would now be unpaid— Steven Rattner (@SteveRattner) March 12, 2013
I’m not sure if the above was a Capitol Hill internship with a Democrat or a Republican, but if it was a Democrat, shouldn’t the internship pay, at the very least, minimum wage? You know, practice what you preach to small businesses across America and all that.
Rattner wasn’t happy with the responses to his tales of woe, however:
Hey guys, thanks for sarcasm and worse. Just trying to get past DC-speak about #sequester with real examples— Steven Rattner (@SteveRattner) March 13, 2013
Yes. “Real examples” of those hardest hit. How will these kids of means ever make it in the world without more government spending?
