Late-Night Round-Up: Leno Mocks AP 'Illegal Immigrant' Decision, Maher Wants to Marry Ann Coulter
Even Tonight Show host Jay Leno couldn’t resist making fun of the Associated Press’s decision to drop “illegal immigrant” from its stylebook yesterday: “They will now use the phrase ‘undocumented Democrat,’” he joked.
Meanwhile, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, guest Bill Maher’s Christianity-bashing schtick seemed to have grown a little stale with the audience. Maher had to press the crowd for a reaction when he called the Bible “a bunch of insane, Bronze-Age malarkey”: “Come on, I know there are some people that are with me on this.”
Later in the show, Maher criticized New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and his “nanny state.” “I think it gives liberals a bad name. It makes liberals look like bullies who want to tell people what to do,” Maher said, adding that Bloomberg’s regulations make him want to become a tea partier and marry conservative pundit Ann Coulter.
