MIT professor Noam Chomsky thinks the Obama administration is “running the biggest terrorist operation that exists, maybe in history.”
President Obama is “dedicated to increasing terrorism,” Chomsky said on The Laura Flanders Show on Tuesday. He pointed to the government’s drone strikes, the NSA surveillance program, and the use of the U.N.’s polio vaccination campaign in Pakistan as a front for the CIA’s search for bin Laden as “terror operations.”
Chomsky believes that people around the world feel threatened by the administration’s programs, and that they react to this feeling by becoming terrorists. “As you carry out these operations you’re generating terrorism,” he said. “People hate the country that’s just terrorizing them, that’s not a surprise,” he added.
He described a drone strike in Yemen following the Boston Marathon bombings that has caused villagers in the area to become “fanatic anti-Americans” after jihadist groups had been pressuring them to turn against the United States for years.
