Cruz: Immigration Bill Will 'Likely Pass in the Senate' But 'We Can Stop This in the House'
On Hannity Monday night, Senator Ted Cruz stated that the Gang of Eight immigration bill will “likely pass the Senate” but that it can be stopped by Republicans in the House.
It was “not by accident” that the border security amendment was “dumped” on senators Friday afternoon and called to a vote on Monday, Cruz explained. The “mad rush” to pass comprehensive immigration reform that the Texas senator mentioned during the Senate debate earlier today will, he believes, be brought to a halt in the House of Representatives. If Rand Paul’s recent prediction that the Senate bill will be “dead on arrival” in the lower chamber is any indicator, Cruz’s hope may not be in vain.
