The Washington Times has announced that it has hired former National Rifle Association president David Keene as its opinion editor. He said he looks forward to “giving readers access to solid, insightful, and interesting conservative perspectives.”
“David has been a tireless advocate for conservatism, demonstrating time and again how the movement’s values and ideas can address the problems of the day,” said the Washington Times’ president Larry Beasley. The newspaper’s editor praised Keene’s “caliber, wisdom, and experience.”
Keene is coming off perhaps the most hectic period in his tenure as NRA president following last year’s Newtown, Conn., shooting.
