It’s official: Short-tempered and hotheaded actor Alec Baldwin has a new home. MSNBC media-relations spokesperson Lauren Skowronski tweeted that Baldwin will join the network starting next month:
Happy to welcome Alec Baldwin to @msnbc! Up Late w/ Alec Baldwin coming in Oct. – Fridays at 10p— Lauren Skowronski (@LaurenSko) September 5, 2013
“I’ve been talking with Alec for a while and can’t wait to bring his personality and eclectic interests to MSNBC,” said MSNBC president Phil Griffin in a statement. “He’s got such passion for ideas and what’s going on in the world — he’s going to be a great addition to our line-up.”
Baldwin said he was “grateful” to the network for giving him an opportunity to “talk with smart, talented, and engaging people in every imaginable field.”
Earlier this year, he told The Hollywood Reporter that his lifelong dream was to be a 60 Minutes correspondent. “That show would be the pinnacle of the marriage between my political beliefs, my political curiosity and wanting to communicate to people on camera to a broader audience,” he said.
