My column today on the administration’s atrocious sales job on Syria, although, in fairness, people reflexively hate the idea. All you need to do is say “another Middle Eastern war” and you’ve practically clinched the public argument. So, we’ve gone from arguing about how big or small a strike will be to arguing about how big or small the diplomatic fig leaf will be. If the Obama administration gets some version of the Kerry Gaffe Plan through the U.N., the attempted implementation will drag on for weeks and months and political attention here at home will inevitably turn to other things. But our allies and enemies won’t soon forget this spectacle of incompetence and fecklessness.
