Lindsey Graham offered a succinct analysis of Obamacare on Fox News on Monday morning, and he think Democrats will come around to agree with him. “This bill sucks,” the South Carolina Republican said.
Graham stated that he supports the House bill to defund Obamacare, but said he ultimately believes that Republicans will have to settle for delays and minor repeals to the law for the time being. He applauded the House efforts as a step in the right direction because it will make the law “an albatross around” red-state Democrats’ necks in the 2014 midterms, who he predicted would flip before the elections. He said the law’s implementation will also convince other Democrats to oppose the law down the road.
“They will slowly but surely — if we don’t screw this thing up — come to us because it’s more than they can carry in the election cycle in 2014 and 2016,” Graham said. “We just need to be patient, keep fighting, but fight smart.”
