Senator Ted Cruz didn’t go to Washington to get along — and according to a new poll, he’s not getting along with both politicians and plenty of Americans.
Currently, 62 percent of Americans know who Cruz is, according to a new Gallup poll. Among Americans, 26 percent have a favorable view of the Texas senator, while 36 percent have an unfavorable view. Cruz’s favorables have only risen slightly since June (24 percent viewed him favorably then) but the percentage of people viewing him unfavorably has doubled in that time period.
However, congressional leaders might eye Cruz’s numbers with envy. House speaker John Boehner is viewed favorably by 27 percent of Americans and unfavorably by 51 percent, while Senate majority leader Harry Reid’s numbers stand at 27 percent and 43 percent respectively.
