WH Won't Say if Anyone Will Be Held Accountable for Obamacare Rollout
Jay Carney dodged questions as to whether the White House would hold those involved with the creation of the dysfunctional Obamacare exchange website accountable in Thursday’s daily briefing.
When pressed on two companies awarded with million-dollar federal contracts to help create the website, Carney twice referred the question to the Department of Health and Human Services. At the current time, Carney explained, the only accountability the president is concerned with is getting the site up and running properly.
Earlier this year, Robert Gibbs, Carney’s predecessor as White House press secretary, called for the administration to fire people over the “excruciatingly embarrassing” rollout.
