Graham to Introduce Bill Banning Abortions After Twenty Weeks
Senator Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) is introducing a bill in the Senate that would ban most abortions after twenty weeks.
The twenty-week mark was chosen since unborn children are capable of feeling the pain of being aborted when they are that old.
There is widespread public support for baning abortions after twenty weeks. A July Huffington Post/YouGov poll found that 59 percent of Americans supported a twenty week abortion ban. An August Quinnipiac poll showed that a whopping 60 percent of respondents chose 20 weeks as the cut-off date for legal abortions.
In June, the House passed a bill that banned abortions after twenty weeks.
