With Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson’s future still uncertain, Oklahoma governor Mary Fallin criticized A&E’s decision to suspend the show’s patriarch for comments he made regarding his faith and his views on homosexuality.
“[Robertson] may have been able to choose better words than what he used, but it seems crazy that one can’t express their opinions without losing their jobs,” Fallin told Laura Ingraham on her radio show. She said there are numerous instances of celebrities and public figures making inappropriate comments, but she does not think they should lose their jobs over the comments.
“We live in a country that does have diverse opinions,” Fallin said.
Earlier in the week, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal and Texas senator Ted Cruz criticized A&E’s suspension of Robertson.
