Boko Haram released a video that appears to show many of the Christian girls who were kidnapped from their school in Chibok in April. The girls are wearing Muslim clothing and praying to Allah in the video.
Terrorist group leader Abubakar Shekau announced in the video that “the girls have been converted to Islam.”
The girls haven’t been seen since they were first abducted on April 14, but 53 have since escaped the Nigerian terrorists. 276 girls remain missing.
Boko Haram released the video after the Nigerian government made ”indirect contact” with the terrorist group. Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan said his government would not pay for the girls’ release “because the sale of human beings is a crime against humanity.”
Amnesty International claimed Nigerian security forces knew fighters from Boko Haram were approaching Chibok four hours before the abductions, but they did nothing to intervene.
