Speaker John Boehner won’t say whether he’ll serve out a full term in the House if reelected this November. “I’m running for reelection, I expect to be speaker,” Boehner said in an interview with Texas Tribune editor Evan Smith on Monday.
Perhaps not for much longer, though. When asked if he planned to finish his term should he win reelection, Boehner declined to say definitively. “Listen, I can’t predict what’s going to happen,” he said. “I’m going to be 65 years old in November. I never thought I’d live to be 60, so I’m living on borrowed time.”
Boehner added that he’d like to see Jeb Bush run for president in 2016.
