Bill Clinton said he was “dumbfounded” by Karl Rove’s recent comments about his wife’s health, and fired back in defense of her.
“First, they said she faked her concussion and now they say she is auditioning for her part on The Walking Dead,” Clinton told an audience today, referencing the popular TV show about zombies. “If she does [have brain damage], I must be in really tough shape because she is still quicker than I am.”
He said he expects Republicans to do “whatever it takes” to harm his wife’s chances.
Earlier this week, the New York Post reported that Rove suggest the former secretary of state may have “brain damage.” Later, Rove said he didn’t use that exact phrase, but feels Clinton’s recent concussion means it’s legitimate to raise questions about her health.
