Harry Reid Echoes Hillary: 'What Difference Does it Make?'
Harry Reid took a page from Hillary Clinton’s playbook on Thursday when it comes to facing tough questions.
During a press briefing on Thursday, Reid was asked about the discrepancy in accounts of when he was informed about the release of five high-level Taliban generals in exchange for American Bowe Bergdahl. Earlier this week, the majority leader claimed he was informed on Friday, while all other congressional leaders have said they were told on Saturday after the swap; the White House later corrected Reid, saying he was informed on Saturday.
“It’s made a big deal over nothing,” he snapped when asked about the discrepancy. “Is it Friday, or Saturday? What difference does it make? What difference does it make?”
Reid’s response was reminiscent of Hillary Clinton’s infamous response during a 2013 congressional hearing on the 2012 Benghazi attacks. Then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton responded to questioning about the attack with, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”
