Jeff Sessions Is Up for Reelection. Against Nobody.
I profiled Alabama senator Jeff Sessions in a recent issue of National Review.
A piece of interesting political trivia I didn’t get to mention is that Sessions, who is up for reelection this year, not only didn’t face a primary challenger, but he isn’t facing a challenger in the general election. That marks the first time in the history of the state that the Democrats aren’t putting up a candidate.
That’s a swift turn of events in a state that, when Sessions was a young man, was firmly controlled by Democrats.
