Senator Schumer accuses her critics of focusing on “a few snippets” rather than the weight of her jurisprudence. Well, of course, it’s not snippets and it’s not just a few of them. Then he proceeds with a line of questions that is, for a smart guy, pretty dopey. You obviously aren’t someone who rules for sympathetic parties, he says, because look at all the sympathetic people whom you have thrown out of court, and the unsympathetic people who have won before you! But no one is saying that she always rules for only sympathetic parties — just that she puts a big thumb on the scales in, especially, cases high on a particular ideological agenda. Sheesh.
