The character assassins opposing Judge Alito have a timing problem. Their
long awaited ad assault on Judge Alito debuted the same day that the American
Bar Association gave Judge Alito its highest rating: a unanimous “well qualified.”
Inasmuch as their attack on Judge Alito deals with an ethical issue reviewed by the ABA (and already dismissed as nonsense by every legal ethicist who has looked at the issue), the question needs to be raised: Do People for the American Way and other ad sponsors think the ABA is corrupt, or stupid?
