There’s a tremendous piece by Ian Buruma in Tuesday’s Guardian on the cringing self-abasement from some in the West in response to the
’Miss World’ riots. Possibly most repellent of all are comments attributed to Julia Morley, one of the principal organizers of the show. She has apparently blamed this killing spree on the journalist who wrote the offending column. Apparently it was the journalist who had “made this problem.”
Wrong, Julia. It was the murderers who made “this problem”.
