The Right take on higher education.

Charles Hill

I’ve offered up plenty of criticism of Yale University on this blog. But I want to be fair and highlight the good things, too. Let me therefore call attention to my former thesis adviser, Charles Hill, who is featured this week in a series of video interviews on NRO TV. Watch, and you’ll learn something.

Hill has just published a book on Grand Strategy, drawing from history and literature in a unique approach to IR theory. He is a scholar of wide interests and is a popular teacher, particularly among conservative students at Yale. He is one of those rare individuals whose politics deviate from the liberal orthodoxy, and who still managed to get hired up there somehow.

(I should note, by the way, in view of David’s discussion yesterday: I’m pretty sure Hill does not have tenure!)
